Supported workflows
- Depth Map: import binary or ASCII STL; export 8-bit RGBA or genuine 16-bit grayscale PNG.
- Upscale: import standard raster images from Photos or Files; export 2× or 4× PNG.
- Vectorize: trace high-contrast artwork; export SVG, DXF, or vector PDF.
Quick troubleshooting
- An STL will not open
- Confirm that the file is a valid binary or ASCII STL and try opening a fresh copy from Files.
- The depth preview looks flat
- Adjust Light point, Dark point, and Gamma. Rotate the model so its visible surface faces the preview camera.
- A 4096² export is slow
- Large exports require substantially more memory and processing. Try 2048² on older iPhones or close other memory-intensive apps.
- Another app changes my 16-bit PNG
- Some receiving apps convert shared images to 8-bit. Save to Files first, then import the file from within your destination application.
- Vector output is noisy
- Use high-contrast artwork, adjust Threshold, and raise Noise cleanup. Photographs generally do not vectorize as cleanly as logos or line art.
Files and backups
DepthGraver processes current work on-device. Keep your original source files and exported results backed up in a location you control. When project saving becomes available, portable .depthgraver packages will contain the source asset and settings needed to continue your work.
Privacy
